The empty public housing estate has been designated as a quarantine site for 106 of the 364 Hongkongers who were stuck on the quarantined Diamond Princess cruise liner in Japan for more than two weeks due to a COVID-19 outbreak onboard. The group landed in Hong Kong on 20 February and was taken to the estate for a 14-day quarantine. The disease caused by the virus (SARS-CoV-2) has been officially named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO). Il Boeing dell’Aeronautica militare è già in Giappone in attesa di imbarcare la trentina di connazionali e altri 26-27 cittadini europei ma i test medici sul coronavirus a cui vengono sottoposti i passeggeri sono ancora in corso.
